The fully fitted yacht has a steel hull and weighs approximately 12 t. It is fitted with a Fischer Panda 48 V EasyBox electric drive system. The boat’s drive is a Fischer Panda 20 kW podded underwater motor.
A single phase 230V Fischer Panda 15000i PMS generator is also installed and provides power for domestic electric appliances and charging when travelling or shore power is not available. The on-board battery bank is a battery bank from an electric car.
As the motor yacht was built on dry land, a water-filled shell had to be constructed around the yacht to fully test the drive system during construction phase.
Mr Förg transported the Mimi on a trailer via Italy to begin an extended tour of the Adriatic Sea and Mediterranean Sea.
The journey officially being from the Slovenian port of Koper, along the Croatian coastline, then crossing the Adriatic just south of Split heading to the Italy town of Vieste. The journey continued south following the Italian coast until Otranto. From there, the Mimi crossed the Adriatic to reach the Greek Islands of Corfu. The Mimi has just reached the southern tip of Greece and covered over 1700 km
We hope to post some photos of the Mimi during the tour in our next update.
